Professor Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti (1923–2023) was an outstanding academic and scholar whose credentials included a BA, MA, DD, D.Min, and a Ph.D. in Religion, alongside a Bachelor of Christian Education and a Doctorate from Northgate Graduate School and Zoe College, U.S.A. Overcoming significant socio-economic barriers, he pursued education with determination and grace.

Motivated by his passion for learning, Professor E.H. Guti founded several educational institutions, including Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU), Christ for Zimbabwe College, AMFCC Bible Schools, Grange Christian School, and Ezekiel Guti Primary School in Liberia. He also established numerous Bible schools across Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, and Ghana, providing training for full-time ministry as well as part-time and online programmes globally.

Professor E.H. Guti’s dedication extended to founding institutions that served various educational and social needs, such as orphanages and ministries supporting the disabled, alongside the Ezekiel Guti Development Trust. His legacy in education includes establishing multiple primary and secondary schools in Zimbabwe and other African countries, as well as founding the Institute of Ministry and contributing to Christian higher education.
He was honoured with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Social Entrepreneurship (Honoris Causa) from ZEGU in 2021, reflecting his significant contributions to academic and social entrepreneurship.

Throughout his life, Professor E.H. Guti utilised education as a tool for empowerment, training thousands of pastors and Christian leaders worldwide. His influence continues through the many institutions he established that focus on equipping individuals for leadership and Christ-centred ministry.
